Planners just aren't thinking right is the bulk of it too I think. You would think we would have more access to Knight freight as they do ours from seeing their trailers at our customers now too. I don't know, all I know is my miles haves sucked since being brought back east from the west where they usually leave me.

Seems opinions vary... on yet another load that is available right before I pick it up... then I have an extra whole day to deliver it... was shocked to get a next load on my way to Indy... but... I can’t pick it up until 11am... so I shut down with 4 hours left on my 11... will head in to Indy tomorrow to drop this one and pick up the next one... and it too has an extra whole day on it...

Sure seems like frieght is light and they are stretching it out to keep all wheels rolling a little bit each day...

And I’m a bit insistent about getting frieght too so it’s not a driver sitting back waiting for someone to get around to giving me a load.

    TokyoJoe and jarhead0311 Thank this.

I’ve heard that line since 2015... it’s easy for the DMs to be the buffer and agree with the Driver and help blame it on someone to have a scapegoat and appease the Driver.

True, probably shouldn't try to point fingers. Im just one of those ppl that likes to know why something is then come up with solutions. Guess for now we gotta "embrace the suck" as I always heard in the military. At least Im headed to TN next. Can no longer go to the window at night now for a load and gotta wait for planners to come in the next day found out last night when I got to RVA. That was primarily how I always got a lot of decent loads out of the yard when back east.

    TokyoJoe Thanks this.

Picked up my load at brothers and dis walk around inspection and right turn signal wasn't working as a running light. The problem turned out to be faulty wiring that was fixed with tape previously. Wow.... Older trailer and extremely rusted, kicked the DOT bumper outta curiosity and pieces crumbled off....took it to trailer shop before taking off with it to get fixed.

I once had a DM tell me that 90% of his job was keeping drivers from screaming at the planners and keeping the planners from screaming at the drivers

Sitting at the Wytheville yard, have a drop to target when breaks up.

Had my dm call me yesterday morning at 6,had a 800 appt,I'm 15 miles away, just wanted to make sure you're gonna be ontime.

Had to kindly remind him that in my time here I've always been ontime, save the hand holding for the drivers that aren't doing what they're supposed to.

That's 4 times the past 4 days now,im gonna start calling them everyday now, where's my next load lol

Hey @JohnBoy have you eve done a repositioning cruise? Thought I’d ask you since you take a lot of cruises. My BIL was thinking of doing one for my SIL 50th BD and was asking me (hahaha, that’s funny since I’ve never been in a cruise) about them.
