My opinion, winter roads were better before everyone started using liquid deicer. Now they slop that down and what would normally be a cold road that snow would blow over now has something on it that makes the snow stick. Used to have good, cold snowpack that you could run down at highway speed but now everyone thinks they need to see pavement and it ends up being a slick mess.
Aside from wooden snow fences, why doesn’t WY build snow barriers right next to I-80?

Chicago likes to salt everything, the beezjus out of the tristate in a inch of snow.
Sun sets, it turns into a few inches of spikey ice. Tears into the tires and everything.
Maryland found popcorn mix. Presto monsoon rains no more hydroplaning at 70 or splashing at 45.
In a month the first popcorn pavements failed utterly. They had to take it to bare dirt and rebuild it all over again.PE_T Thanks this. -
They don’t need to create a toll. They should just raise their IFTA tax. Theirs is below the average IFTA tax. It wouldn’t hurt much if they increased it by 10 cents.
Current WY IFTA tax
402 miles / 7 mpg = 57.4
57.4 X 0.24 IFTA = 13.78
Increased IFTA tax
57.4 X .35 IFTA = 20.09
$6.31 difference from current IFTAx1Heavy Thanks this. -
