Me too, Ive been using one for 14 years. And I dont regret it. I got my sleep test and cpap machine at the VA for free.

Remember we all have a number. I would prefer to die at home. But Ive also seen many simply pass away at work wherever they are at. A few I remember well.
I share one. It was a ready mix plant early morning coffee all around. This oldster goes into the pump room for whatever. he's 80 and well liked by everyone. Im unloading a tanker near him.
He comes out on all 4's EVERY limb is rotating grotesquely as if he has 1000 pounds on his back. (Heart attack) trying to reach the office where help is there. He forces himself past me who stood there wondering WTF is this? Basically a human sized crab. By behavior which is not normal.
I did not know enough to recognize then how a failing heart attack takes away so much from someone when I was that young. He did make it to the building and help came. But I don't think he made it because the crew lost their morale that day.
Took me a time to get over that one. Not that there was anything faster that could be done than what was already done in that time frame. -

Sadly Reggie White had a lot more going on than apnea. Cpap may have helped him sleep better and maybe be a little healthier but it may not have kept him alive. Sarcoidosis isnt directly treated like apnea.
There is a retired air force colonel in my wifes office that has that and he’s been told dieing in sleep is a good possibility cpap or not. And on top of that he has a very high chance of getting terminal cancer as well. It’s Sad. -
Next thing will be an EKG test like commercial airline pilots take, the only difference is the lack of money they pay drivers for all the b.s. and hoops one has to jump through to get this great job, er lifestyle. That's why there is a driver shortage into perpetuity or until the robot trucks arrive en masse.
