The highest street number I got was a range between 31876 - 31899. That was all the way north by where CR 49 ends at State Hwy 59. Would that bring me even close to the right address? I'm using PCMiler without the GPS (cause I'm just that cheap).

Oh yes, it would put you very close.

You can enter CR 49 from Hwy 59 on the extreme north end, then exit it on the south end at the Love's. The actual location of the business is about a mile north of the Loves

I wouldn't place any blame on your mapping software for street numbers. they're totally screwed in that area.

The nursery I was at to begin with, was 3100. That's one hell of a leap when you consider the distance between the 2 points.

    Hey guys...
Ok quick question... I'm starting school in jan or so... and I'm doing ALL the research i possibly can before i get into this too well make my life a hell lot easier lol
I've been doing research and I'm thinking of going ahead and buying this GPS system to try it out... it's the TomTom - XL 340S GPS basiclly from what I'm reading it does a LOT of things... my family member has one that is a little cheaper and so far I've been using it left and right even when i know where to go to see what happends... i love the #### thing it cost like $200 for the one I want but its supposed to give you traffic updates.. ahead of time for the route your going as well as weather and what no... and me being new to this... is PROB the best thing I can possibly do lol... well eithe way my question is has anyone tried this one? and if so how was it for you did it work and help you or is it just a waste of money to get?
    thanks.

I talked to one driver who had a tomtom and he loved it. It'll work as long as you remember it's not made for trucks.

yep i know have the book next to you and live by it too lol ^.^
the good thing about tomtom its that it will re-route you if u go the "wrong" way from what it wants you to... and i guess downloading maps into my laptop would be a good idea....
I never leave anywhere without my laptop, zune, cell phone and a book... its sad but it's true i feel weird if i ont have them... add the atlas for truck driving in there (yes i know im a n00b and dont know the name of it lol) and my messenger bag is going to be an even bigger pain to carry lol >.<

Yeah it's just the atlas. Mapquest and google maps are quite useful too. I just had to stop and use mapquest to find this army base I'm heading for. The gps had no idea where it was and neither did the atlas.

Like the others have said, don't rely on that TomTom too much. It may re-route you, but I'm willing to bet 9 times out of 10 that re-route will take you down a road you really don't want to be on in a truck.

Always plan your routes with the MCRA and keep your eyes peeled.

The Garmin website indicates their units that have "truck routing" only choose "maximum use of interstates" when that mode is on. The things mostly have no idea what a restricted truck route is. The best "GPS" there is, is a professional driver with a map. The little box is useful information, only when used with judgement. Follow it blindly, and you'll be taking your trailer to the barbershop eventually!

Many GPSs will do the rerouting on the fly once you've moved off of the little box's idea of where you should go. Generally I've found the thing is still recalculating about the time you reeeallly could use it to tell you what the next street name is on a dark night.

Got a message from my bosses boss about using GPS in Reed City MI. Turns out, that once you deviate from the main route into our shipper up there - because of construction - the GPS units are telling our drivers to head down two roads that are essentially residential, posted no trucks. The constables have notified our company that they start writing tickets with big fines tomorrow. QualComm message was absolutely no deviation from our macro 19 local instructions up there. Hey! At least they let us know it's coming!

    The best one to get....

Rand McNally Deluxe Motor Carriers' Road Atlas.... With laminated pages....

You don't need a computer to do your job... In fact GPS's make it more difficult.
