I'm not sure what the hiring procedures are right now as far as experience goes but the company has no set in stone amount of experience required. They have hired out of school many times before. They need people bad so my advice would be to check it out. Timing is key at a seniority based job so I would try ASAP if you are interested. Don't think the age matters either.

Forget Conway. 5 years to top-rate + wage cuts/401k freeze. What a joke...nothing but the Swift of LTL! Round here, they're low-balling freight like crazy which is why they're hiring in droves. But who wants to work more hours for less pay?
LESS hours for MORE $$$$$...now that's the Paddington way!!Logan76 Thanks this. -
I got a good laugh out of your post paddington. I wish when I was a mechanic working 80 hours a week that I could have made the same working half the hours, the paddington way eh?
phroziac and Paddington Thank this. -

Just saw this.. The Swift of LTL?? I agree with your philosophy "Less hours for more $$$$$". I like it. 58 hours last week with about 1700 miles put me at $1600 for the week. That five years blew but the payoff is pretty good. All kidding aside, I hope you guy's can avoid the wage cuts - that $1600 would have been $1680 before. FedEx and Con-way are one in the same bro - you have it better here, we have it better there. -
And I still think UPSF is the best place tp be of all off them!!!,......

There are more Con-way LTL loads going on outside carriers right now than I've ever seen. If you guy's like em there are plenty loads to haul. It would be nice to haul it ourselves - at least use our own truckload company to get those drivers miles. This should illustrate how cheap some companies haul freight. It's cheaper to use them than our own drivers, paid for trucks, and fuel. Go figure.

Hey, I'm quoting myself but this is the honest truth. Con-way Freight just leased a terminal we used to occupy, right across the street from the new one we built, for sub-service vans and driver parking.
AD Express, Werner, CR England, Celedon, and Swift seem to be the ones driving for less than half what I do with no hourly wage for traffic, drop/hook, and fuel. Congrats drivers. You're turning $90,000 a year home every day into $40,000 a year gone for weeks.
Thanks guys. We all appreciate it..57104 - Ya Heard! Thanks this.
