Hey guys I lost the password to my other account so I made this one. I missed an open scale while Bobtailing down southbound i71 in Kentucky between Louisville and Cincinnati. None of the officers came after me but it was also raining. I saw the scale was open but I didn't think bobtails had to go in until at the last minute I seen the all commercial vehicles must weigh sign. Will me or my company get a ticket in the mail for missing the scale. I'm an owner operator so my license plates are linked to me. I didn't notice any cameras but I'm really nervous. Thanks in advance for the replies.

In Kentucky at that super coop they have your photograph as you pass the exit ramp for the scale, both for those who enter and all traffic that passes. If they caught it, and if they are in the mood they could send the registered owner a ticket for "failure to obey a traffic control device", which are the various arrows and signs when you enter the scale property.
I would do nothing, and see if they contact you. It is unlikely. If they do, follow whatever instructions are in the communication, do not ignore it.

Will go to the DOT number on the truck? I'm leased on with a carrier.

If they use the license plate recognition program, it will go to the registrant, which is your carrier, at their address. On that cab card is your name as the owner, but their address.

If no one came out and chased you down, nothing is gonna happen. But dont make a habit of it.
In any event the worst that could happen is who ever name is on the base plate, would get a fine in the mail.

If you blow a scale bobtailing because as you saw "open," you had JUST realized you forgot to put your mudflaps back on, and said "f it, what are the odds....." they will chase you down and give you a ticket for your mudflaps, blowing the scale, and also give you a false logbook warning for the log you filled out early in your motel room while you were up, showered, and waiting to get back to work.

That's what a friend told me anyways :D
