LOL...KLLM is where I started in 1991. Out of the Bloomington yard. I also had an International cab-over.

If you deadhead home, your not paid. If there is a load home or near your home, you will get paid.... What a crock.... I sat 11 hour in Medford to drive 265 miles home (my hometime) If I wouldnt have waited for my repower, I never would have been paid! This never would have happend at Knight Trans. One thing Ive noticed since Ive been with IDC, they cater to there customers, Knight and others cater to there drivers!!!

I know I didn't get paid to drive the last leg home. I just wanted to get home without having to sit around and wait for a load to come open or worse, have it turn into 2 runs to get me there. The 300 miles were on IDC's fuel bill which beats renting a car and paying fuel too. They will pay my deadhead however when I leave home to where ever I get a trailer/load.

Your right... IDC is a great Team Company... the Solo's get the short end of the stick from everything I have seen. Thats not to say that you can't make money as a solo with IDC, but IDC is geared towards Teams.

I am thinking about going with IDC. I have ready alot of good stuff about them. Now looking at some bad stuff but the last post was back in 2007.

Is IDC that good now that no-one has anything bad to say?

    Thanks,
    Tommy

Well I just applied to IDC. I doubt I will get a call. But I will tell you that, as far as I know, they are thought of as one to the better companies to work for. Despite what I have seen on here I would sign up with them if given the chance. We all have different experiences and one man's trash is another man's treasure. So I don't necessarily agree or disagree with any of you. I JUST WISH I COULD GET A JOB. The company I was with closed. 50 trucks, 45 drivers. Great company but they just couldn't pay the bills, with the lack of freight. Oh well to bad for us. :biggrin_255:

    I will tell you this;
From what I have read you need at lest 1 year exp. in the past 3 years with a company that has more than 300 trucks.

I have to wait till Oct. that will be my 1 year mark with the company I am with now. (total 7 years exp)

    Good luck, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

IDC is a good company to work for...Good equipment, treat you good....You won't get rich there....500 mile load two days to deleiver it..Teams get the majority of loads with solo's getting left overs...

Those are the 2 main things I am looking for in a company:biggrin_255:.
I don't want to get rich. As long as I can pay the bills and have a little money in my pocket.

I just enjoy driving, but want to be treated with respect.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

Most of the solo's Ive talked to recently are doing right around 3000 mi a week. The teams have actually been suffering due to slow team freight. The company goals for solo's are 3500 mi per week avg when freight permits. IDC is getting in 300 new trucks as well... 150 KW'S for the solos and 150 Cascadia's for the teams. We have been here almost 2 years and we are still pretty happy... are woes are economy related, not company related for the most part.
