Can the timing change at different times based on boost and intake temps? I have a 12.7 tuned by SS60D that acts like the ecm ####### the timing when it sees high boost/temp. It sounds awful and I lose a lot of power momentarily, but after I back out of it a little bit it'll "advance" and get right back up there. Seems temperature sensitive because the colder it is outside the worse the timing shake gets.

Yeah, there's a few different timing tables and a bunch of modifiers that advance the timing based on temp, altitude, etc. SS60 is what I like to call a calibration stuffer. He puts the same ddec 3 calibration in every ecm that he tunes...at least everyone I've ever seen and sets the pw_fudge_factor at 1.15 so the timing isn't really correct for your engine. That being said, I don't think the programming is causing that issue.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I wasn't ready to blame his tune, because when it clears up it really runs out nice. I get up to 45 lbs of boost and the pyro rarely goes above 850°. I just can't figure this one out, I've replaced all fuel lines, fuel pump, installed a Fass system, the motor is rebuilt with only 75,000 on it. New engine harness, injector harness, all new sensors, etc. What are your thoughts on it?
    Thanks in advance

Hi guys, anyone know where I can get a matched set of 5915 injectors for a 98 ddec4 12.7? Thanks in advance.

Looking for info on potential information of potential gains and routes to take on my 1992 Freightliner Class with 12.7 ddec2 serial number #06R0056204 factory 450hp. What can I safely take this motor up to and with what modifications. This truck is my baby.

I also have a factory remanned 12.7 pre EGR in my 2002 Classic Condo with a 1/2018 build date serial number #06RE154318 factory 500/1650. It only has 80k on the motor.

I’m thinking about swapping this into my 1992 if I can’t get more power out of the original 12.7, although I have heard the older 12.7 doesn’t have piston oilers and they can’t take the heat from turning it up. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What truck you have? What is the last of your 6 vin. I am interested in that ECM, if I can get it from the dealer.
    They don’t know anything unless I provide a vin#

I was trying to do the conversion from ddec2 to ddec4. No luck. I feel with the ddec2 I have the same problem. I am not getting enough fuel. Could you send me the number to someone that can program my old ddec2 ecm?I will put the 5919 injectors in but have to take all the conversion wiring harness back off and install the old ddec 2 wiring harness. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you put 5915 injectors in a DDEC 2 you'll instantly regret it. DDEC 2s use higher flowing injectors with less pulsewidth than later DDECs. Assuming you have 4940 injectors in your DDEC 2, switching to 5915 injectors will probably cost you 40-50hp
