it is 100% drivers
If no one took that $1 per mile load then it would keep going up until it got moved
if no one takes it until it’s $3 then that would be the rate
problem is the drivers set the rate at $1 when the drivers haul it for that
No shipper. No broker is forcing a truck to load cheap
It’s the drivers that cave
The very best owner operator carrier, 90% pay!

No. Freight is the demand. Trucks are the supply. Sitting can be much more costly.
Companies will fold, freight will rise, rates will then find a new level. Economics 101.
Something no one "controls", it just cycles.Last edited: Feb 10, 2020

And that right there is why we have low rates
Sitting isn’t the solution for every area but I will sit a day and usually get a much better rate
If not I will put $500 in the tank to move before I do a shipper a $1 favor
this discussion will go nowhere. Just like the round table talk at the truck stops or your local barLast edited: Feb 11, 2020

Ive reached the Point in being a leased to a trucking comoany that I don't want to be trucking anymore. I'm on 14% lease to a comoany with my own truck lease purchase from a dealership. Yes its true trucking companies will try using you its true. Example: i told the dispatcher get one of the $2 per mile loads which is company's contract with a shipper, to Jacksonville next. Then I'm told that shipper is closed for a month due to renovations,, this $1.30 load is all we have left. 3 days later I'm picking up a load from the shipper that's soposibly closed for a month. They don't care about what you make they care about their contract garbage being covered. Being leSed to is a terrible business: $15000-$20000 monthly gross after 14 % deducted. $1500-$1700 weekly fuel cost. $600 weekly ( insurace, cargo insurance, $150trl rental, occ insurance, etc). So on average you get 8000-$10000 per month from which you have to pay $1800 truck lease + maintenance and Repairs which averages to $1000 per month. So what are you left with as take home? $4k-$5k per month???? If I was to hire a $. 55 per mile employee to drive my truck, within a month I would go bancrupt, United States trucking economy is garbage, Many american truckers can't afford to keep their trucks fixed up, you see trucks driving around with broken bumpers, and ao on and on. My average income as an employee for an o/o was $6000 per month in 2018. It's just not worth being a trucker in anymore, in some European countries truckers make on average 7k euro monthly=$8k and they drive 20hrs less per week driving around 400kilometers per day = 300miles. Economy in US became crap compared to some other countries. Wanna resign my USA citizenship and tell them off on the resignation form, to keep their garbage laws that don't allow this and that comparing to other countries, keep their crappy economy, and their mutant people with 4 feet wide assesss. And their overpriced 2x4+plywood houses that fall apart when the wind blows. A trucker in usa can't even buy some sexy #### to bang at the end of thw day, they make it illegal. Vs half of the planet where it's legal. where trucking makes sense, hey you can atleast get a blow job after lunch.
I should place a decal on the back of the truck ( imaginary electric APU in Trumps economy, can't afford one, then one that says: wait till you'll see my imaginary house I bought having my own business in this countrys economy. And One that says: if you see bold tires or squeaky breaks its not me being lazy it's the wealthiest country's in the world garbage economy, can't afford it yet.Last edited: Feb 15, 2020

They dont push the christain thing much. You see some of it in the beginning (you see a video of Steve's story in a megachurch setting) but after that it doesn't come up. They do use a church to store trailers (tax writeoff) and pay for a nationwide service that is faith based that you can call if your having problems who will also act as grief counselors for your family if something happens to you.
And yeah efs code or your not getting crap. You could stop them unloading more if you were independent until you got paid
