So I am wondering with the merger of these two companies. What is the difference between going with one vs the other? Is FFE still all the reefer or does KLLM also have reefer? I've been pointed at FFE by ChinaTown, along with a few other good companies. As I want to run reefer OTR. But I am wondering since they are now "one" company, sorta. What are the pros/cons of each branch. Thanks in advance everyone.

KLLM was competition to the produce etc in reefer a long time ago.
I prefer FFE. They have changed post merger so I am not current on their situation, other than being aware that they have probably added terminals where it is of use to them.
If you go with FFE and get settled in, do not forget to ask for the Plasma Run verbally to someone who has the authority to make it happen if they decide to do so.Upinsmoke and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Is that Plasma Run good mileage and dependable loads? I am guessing so, as people always need plasma...etc.
Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
If I went with FFE it will be with Plasma as far as I am concerned if they have it.
I pretty much grew weary of just another frozen icecream load back there, it does not keep the blood moving as they say. /punUpinsmoke and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Right now, per their website, the DFW terminal is looking for LTL Line Haul. so drop/hook terminal to terminal. I don't mind that as long as it is consistent loads and miles. It would in a way be a perfect way to get my experience on a known route and practicing my backups...etc. I could be a more proficient driver with the exp.

Even though KLLM and FFE merged years ago they still basically run it at two different companies.
FFE is all reefer. You can do the plasma, local, regional or linehaul (OTR terminal to terminal) I run linehaul, but when there is not a load at a terminal I help out with local and regional runs.
KLLM is also reefer. They do more of the true OTR (live loads and terminal to terminal) local, regional and rail yard. They also do the Tyson account.Last edited: Feb 13, 2020
