FYI- The Oklahoma City Police Department told me this morning that there was no guarantee they would even bring this case to the district attorney so I’ve been burning the phone lines trying to get it some visibility.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with the D.A., David Prater, who sounded extremely fair, and he assured me he would call the OKC P.D. and have the case sent for him to review regardless of whether or not they deemed it necessary. We talked for about 10 minutes and I think he has a much better idea about what we face when it comes to parking. Good guy. Fair minded, which is all you can ask for.
They still may not press charges on the security guard, but if so then I’ll feel confident it was due to the evidence and not because his case wasn’t taken seriously because the person shot was a truck driver.

I just can't fathom someone calling a DA's office essentially trying to throw a security guard under the bus for a case they know nothing in regards to any details about.
So speaking of sad, that is very much sad. Very very much so.ZVar, Dale thompson and spyder7723 Thank this. -
It doesn't sound like an argument but just another point of view from someone who does not agree with you. Lighten up man!
You really have no stake in wether the guard was right or wrong so just let the Oklahoma City law enforcement do their investigation. If it is warranted they will go to the DA with charges.
You have voiced your one sided opinion so move on and stop watching too much CSI or Law and Order. Justice will prevail.dunchues, JonJon78 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
I've been in contact with the police investigator on the case who interviewed both the guard and driver and he admitted there was no other video evidence to review. It's a fairly simple case. He declined to even commit to bringing the case to the D.A.. With the D.A. now committing to review the case regardless of the police investigator's opinion, I feel confident that the driver will get a fair shake, free from any anti truck driver bias.
You're free to choose to live life arguing for your own powerlessness and the practiced, learned helplessness of indifference. I choose otherwise.PE_T and Odin's Rabid Dog Thank this. -
How do you know the guard instigated it? The articles I’ve read just say the driver was shot after an argument escalated over parking.
