I hope the student did well. One thing I will remember is to get in the lane I need to be in ASAP. I am confident my trainer will show me but I need to get through schooling first.

Denver is nothing if he cant make it there he cant make it! I hope he does make it. As a yong driver myself i would like to see the younger drivers get a better name. Some of the old timers wont even give you the time of day as it is!

I know his trainer and if he can't make it with him he isn't going to make it!

The student refused to drive for a couple of days, and the trainer called the training dept and let them know, the training dept said call them back Thursday or Friday if he won't drive in cities and they will get the student a bus ticket home!:biggrin_2552:

awwwwwww the good ole days of being a trainee. :biggrin_2558: the thing i hated most was the darn construction.

looks like the local aution is expanding it's business into tractors. about 200 go up for sale next month. most of them newer models too. probably some of them fleet vehicles no longer needed. and even a few trailers. not many reefers though. thinking i be doing some window shopping next month.

That trainer definitely has more patience than me. First refusal would've found a boot off my truck. Unless it was Chicago, or NYC. Prolly a good thing I'll never be a trainer. :biggrin_25526:

I figured I'd have an easier time with Central since their school is in CA and they only need so much up front which gives me a substantial buffer of cash. Plus I like the idea of going out with a trainer for a couple months to learn the ropes...and you can never run out of reefer miles. =)

I could never be a trainer!!! I would lose my patience within hours.:biggrin_25511:
I tried to teach my son to drive and almost ended up choking him!

My dad never had patience with me when he was trying to teach me to drive stick...then my uncle in his happy-go-lucky way made it much easier to learn lol...I miss my old Accord =(

Strange, I have found the old timers to be a font of information. Several times I have run into a problem and looked around and found an oldtimer, walked up to him, explained that I was new and in need of help, and got it. They have lots of info to impart if asked in the right way. Maybe it helps that I'm not a spring chicken myself.

I have met plenty of old timers and they always open up to me after I explain who I am and my ambitions. I even get invites to talk and sometimes get offered food.
