This morning while driving the engine fan kicked in HIGH for no reason and wouldn't kick off. Turned AC off and it turned the fan on and if u turn AC back on it turned fan on. So i figure the sensor was a problem. Replaced the transducer on the High side it turned off the engine fan. Still had no AC had very little while driving down the road maybe 10 degree cooler..
Stopped at a loves and asked them to check it. They told me compressor clutch is working we can Drain it and see if its Low. He said it was 1/2 LB low and put 1/2 lb back in which would of put it around 3lbs. Get to my parking spot i idle it up within 10 mins. The high side hose blows apart.. Freon Everywhere under my hood..
When it i pulled outside of the shop. I Found the bottom of the condenser around 110 degree's and the top of it 220ish. I was gathering more info for the next shop to take a look because love's couldn't fix it. I Closed the hood and within 5-10 mins this Line blew apart.. Did he over charge the system which caused this to blow? This AC system is only 2 2.5 years old... from front to back 111537175_1938567752947281_8037428261225405648_o.jpg

The high pressure switch should have cut the compressor off first. I’d say that’s where you were loosing Freon.

A bit above my pay grade, but if it was letting enough pressure bleed off, then the expansion valve couldn’t do it’s job.
@spsauerland @Goodysnap can probably give you better answers.

With an AC system should the high side of the condenser be HOT or cool?

If you're low on freon. Ac won't be cold.
If you're too high on freon. Ac won't be cold.

There's a high pressure switch that kicks the radiator fan on. And there's a high pressure switch to shut the compressor off.

The 2 switches could be 1 switch for both jobs.

Sounds like he overcharged your compressor and your switches aren't working. The compressor shouldn't have kicked on and your hoses wouldn't have blown up.

The epa guidelines for charging ac.
Drain. Evacuate. Charge 15% and test vents for leaks. (Evaporator.) Fill up with recommended amount.

For those that don't believe. Read the book.

    BoxCarKidd and rachi Thank this.

Yeah but even with it being 1/2 low it still should of kicked in? The clutch was working but the fan at idle wouldn't kick in 1 bit. I'm starting to think maybe a clog in the system somewhere? Mine has a tranducer so it's 1 sensor that controls that and I replaced it. We confirmed compressor clutch was working

So I guess now the question is do I replace that hose and try to refill the system and see if it works or what? I hate to replace the hose and refill the system to find out that's not it.

Temp change across the condenser should be between 15-40 degrees. Less than 15 you have an airflow problem. Greater than 40 degrees you have an internal restriction. They usually get restricted from a failing compressor. Looks like you have a T680.

It's a 2014 t680 anyway to find the restriction? When Love's vacuumed the system he said that went fine.
