Adding endorsements?

Unless you live out west or you are looking seriously at working for an LTL carrier and have an offer, I wouldn't worry about it. If it's simply a matter of a written test, it shouldn't be a problem to better study and re-take the test at when it's convenient. If you fail again after studying and attempting to get the endorsement, perhaps it's a sign.

 

Depends on your state, really. Here they would have to re-issue your gold card, and I don't know what that costs.

 

I did the same thing, needed to back-track to get my doubles-triples. It was no big deal, just the written portion on them, and yes, I did have to pay for a new license. I think they charged it as "lost" license fee, think it was about $25. Best bet on how many times you can re-take it is call your local dl office.

 

Since you're a "brownsfan" I might assume you're in Ohio. All you need to do is take the written portion of the test. I would go to a BMV that had the touch screens. Once you answer enough correctly you're done. But, Ohio being Ohio, they require you to pay full price for a new CDL license.

I moved and changed my address. My contractor needed a copy of my license. I had changed my address online through the BMV but she needed the hard copy to reflect my present address. I go back in to get a replacement saying I lost my original (I knew already they charge full price for a new license just for the addy change) and they tell me that since it's a CDL, FULL PRICE. Same plastic, same machine makes it. But they charge way more. Dick s

 

Brown, yea states don't miss a trick. No road test I know of. Some simple questions on a test. Best way I know is talk face to face with other drivers. Ask them to show you. Most will. With less than a year I would recommend you not pull them. Hooking them up is hard, even for the best drivers. A Pindle Hook is hard to line up 24'+ behind you when you can't see it!
