Can you repeat that...just in case he didn’t get the memo?

i would not trust that device, at least not for maybe another 10 years..reminds me too much of a pacemaker where the battery has to be replaced, and then there is just the thought of an implant.

i had an aunt that had a pacemaker, she had to have it removed/replaced at least 2 times, in a few short years.

id nary trust implants.....not even "safe" boob implants, as those can burst as well, causing the need to be opened up again.

years ago, when those babies broke, the gals were getting that fluid into their system, and caused cancer?

i cannot recall, but nope, no implants of any kind......

more cumbersome and more time consuming to use the CPAP machine, and cleaning it, but , i think that might be the safer way to go.

The thing about applying for work. NEVER EVER volunteer info about yourself. If you want to work? Answer info only if asked about it. Too much info can get you disqualified about your job. If it is important to them about sleep apnea, they will have you take one on their dime. Otherwise dont worry about the past.

Chinatown, tscottme and buddyd157 Thank this.

You can start treating it AFTER your DOT medical and get it cured before next medical. If you don't have daytime symptoms or fall asleep during waking hours, why volunteer to have this on your DOT record. The DOT doctor is not your primary care doctor. His job is to fail you or pass you on the exam for your job.

Is that the the device from Phillip's IRC that doesn't require the face mask? If so, it is a few thousand dollars when I looked it up when they advertised on TV.

i have no idea, i never even heard of this implant, until @Chinatown linked us to it..

but again, i'd nary trust an implant, and i forgot to add, when one has a pacemaker, one needs to stay away from microwave ovens...does that apply to this device as well..??

    nah.....i'd not want any implants.

i just found this from thier website..

so an obese driver is outta luck..???

if one has to maybe NOT have an all important MRI, what about a CT scan, or several x-rays..???

You do understand that a sleep apnea study is not a DOT requirement, don’t you? So then, how can you go to jail?

Most insurance pays for it, by the ad. VA pays for it.
I'd take a chance on it if I were in that situation.

Gotcha I’m just asking if someone has not marked the sleep apnea box or stated that they have never had a sleep study . When I’m fact they did many years ago and was diagnosed mild . If they would be in trouble
