Decisions...

It is very scary to change careers at 46 but this is one industry that I can still get into it just getting through all the B.S. smoke and mirrors.

 

I hear what your saying "Semi-retired". However where I am at is hassel + low pay + high risk + long hours + beauracracy = I need out。 Trucking has issues but at least it pays better. No doubt it will be hard on the family but in the long run I believe it will allow me to provide more for my family in the long run. One thing for sure there are plenty of jobs out there. Its just looking for the right one.

 

Wouldnt know about Hong Kong (or anywhere for that matter havent really left the country unless you count Tijuana and Juarez). My wife has been everywhere.

 

I checked out carter express on the FMCSA SMS website and they have a apostrophy mark on driver safety. I am still trying to understand the FMCSA website and how a companies record correlates with a driver. Does anyones else understand it? When I went to the Stevens orientation at the local college the recruiter kept talking about how Stevens numbers are so good with the FMCSA. But numbers mean nothing to me if I dont understand what it is I am looking at. It sure wowed everyone else thought.

 

Anybody know how to interpert the data for driver safety and Out of Service OOS% at the FMCSA website?
