I am currently in Class to get my class A CDL, only have 3 weeks left, but I have had my class B CDL for 7 years. I would like to find a job with a company driving flat beds, because I see that with most companies they are home on the weekends, and I do have a family that I love, and would like to see more than 4 days out of the month, just would like to know if they would use my 7 years as experience. Any feed back will be helpful thanks!

No it is not experience but there are flatbed companies who hire rookies.

And you can't claim to have riding experience on your shiny new Harley when all you have is a moped license, either. ;)

    GenericUserName and RayLloyd Thank this.

Good on you for having a steady work record, but for driving experience probably not.

    RayLloyd Thanks this.

Class B doesn't count since it doesn't articulate with most companies. Most flatbed companies I know are not home weekends you may want to double check on that.

    RayLloyd Thanks this.

According to the CT Transportation site the proudly boast "Home every weekend...guaranteed!" Also says they hire recent CDL graduates. I think I read somewhere on this site that many of the loads are pre-tarped. Shingles, sheetrock, lumber and other construction materials.

:biggrin_255: Thank you to everyone that gave me some feed back, I did not think it would, and I have to start some where and I just got a Pre-Hire from Roehl, and I really like everything I have heard about them so far, so again thank you for your replies and I'm open to more, so can any one shed some more light about Roehl to me, Thanks!
