Good timing?

Kinda like buying truck #1 where's your work coming from and are you financing or paying cash? Another big factor is who's driving it. I talked to a guy who has 3 and he told me that it's money to be made off the extra two trucks if he could clone his self twice. He said relying on Craigslist for drivers is like sticking your hand up to a hornets nest and waiting to get stung. To be safe have enough Capitol.

 

I would make sure it could be your replacement truck, if it goes south. And where is south anyway........must be Arkansas.

 

The biggest thing is finding someone decent to drive it who won't beat the #### out of it. One thing I've noticed is that most guys think they are the best drivers out there, yet the proof is in the pudding. I pulled wrenches for an outfit that had about 20-25 trucks in our region (about 300 trucks company wide). Out of all the drivers at our division, there was only 2, maybe 3 that I considered to be excellent drivers. Their trucks were hardly ever in the shop apart from regular maintenance. One guy was a retired mechanic/farmer and the other 2 were lifelong drivers and equipment operators. The rest were a bunch of hacks who just destroyed equipment.

 

Make sure most parts will change over from truck #1 over to #2 that way spare parts on one can be used on both?

 

Used trucks look over priced to me. When fuel goes back up to $3+ that ought to cool off demand and push prices down.
