Werner used to allow is the day you signed for your truck, not sure if they still do. They didn't have any restrictions as too how long. Plus if she was on your medical plan you didn't have to pay extra to have her ride on the truck.

Randal....I did. Maybe you didnt read the thread all the way through but I was close to getting it. Just a few dumb mistakes like not flipping range selcetor down. I am a student. I am not super trucker who is perfect. That is why I am going back to school to get some more assistance. I would have been able to pass btw if the school I went to didnt have all their trucks shut down by the state so I couldn't get any practice time in the last week. That is my fault how? Thanks for the info, but try thinking about this: "judge not and you shall not be judged."

Also know that the "Life on the Road" seems exciting, interesting or at the least intriguing to spouses, but many get sick of it very quickly.

Bunk, chair. Chair, bunk.... Play on the phone. Watch trees go by for 11 hours a day.... Use shipper/receiver bathrooms, then shower in a strange semi-public room every night where you have to wear shoes to keep from getting foot diseases! All toiletries must be lugged in and out of it.

Mikee I have prepared her for that and told her about it, but she is deadset on going, she has wanted to be a truck driver since before I ever did, so what is one to do?

Polarbear: I am hoping that happens to me.

That is good to hear. While she may not be qualified to drive, she can definitely help considerably! Most beneficial as a new driver will be having her spot while backing.

Making other drivers very jealous of you for having company along the ride, that does not walk on four legs and need to be walked in the grassy areas!

Keeping you awake in the night hours.

Mikee.....you are right about that. I didn't think about her spotting me, that is a good point. I think I might be going skateboarding, if all works out. So, she would be benefical in that aspect, among many others.

Melton Truck Lines has a rider policy for the wife. Also, their trucks have APU's.
