That said; here is my advice, and it is backed by my insurance company.
Keep your present job for at least 2 more years.
Keep a clean record and don't get pissed if you get turned down when you start applying.
I would also start saving for a fresher course and a willingness to drive for a good company. Working as a yard dog is a big plus, this is a good skill to have.The_vett, tscottme and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I remember getting terminated as a newbie with 3 months OTR exp back in 2011. I was unable to get a trucking job for 3 full years. Fortunately, CRST allowed me to take a refresher course at Hawkeye Community College (Waterloo, IA) after I told a white lie about getting recent exp with a family friend. The transportation industry doesn't hold anyone's hand. Since they hold the blemishes over the driver's head, we have to learn from our mistakes and adjust accordingly the next opportune chance. It's not over for you, family. I'm still fkin up out here a decade later
