I do not recommend pulling any fuses or anything else to "trick the computer". Just simply do the best you can to keep the idle down, but idle when you need to and just don't sweat the little stuff. The absolute worse that they can do is send you a message that your idle is above their goal. They cannot fire you for excessive idle. I got a message last month that my idle was at 46%. I replied with "What do you expect? You made me sit for 55 hours over a weekend!"

I've often wondered why, with the importance of safe driving, getting enough sleep, and avoiding heat stroke, the trucking industry doesn't do more to provide an idle free a/c system for our trucks. If it can be done for an RV, it can certainly be done for a truck. I've actually seen a couple trucks with RV style a/c units mounted to their roofs. I know that wouldn't work with my Freightliner, but the technology is out there, and it's a hell-of-alot cheaper than the fuel used to idle.

    1nonly Thanks this.

<--- Idling his Volvo now :biggrin_25523: Course I`ve been sitting here in Iowa since sunday morning at 12 am. I`ve been a good boy and haven`t run it much but I`m picking up in the morning so I`m gonna sleep nice tonight. I have been told to reduce it though and that im supposedly being monitored for my idle time....even though I for the most part only idle when I`m trying to sleep....I don`t get it....it`s like 90 degrees everywhere but we`re not supposed to run the truck unless we`re driving.

you can disable your qualcomm all you want--it isnt magic --it gets the info from the engine computer--and that cant be diabled--all that screwing around with your qual will do is prevent them from reading it while you are on road--when it goes into shop--info gets downloaded

Yeah i wouldnt mess with the QC at all because they see all the info on the engine directly from it. It's only a matter of time when they catch someone and send him packing...I don't know about you but jobs are tough to find and you don't want to see what they put on ur DAC report either...
