Trucking is very unforgiving.Some companies may excuse it other companies will not.

 

I doubt if your driving record goes back that far. In Ohio we can go to the local DMV and get a print out of our record for $8.00. Your car insurance agent can also get it. Then you are not guessing!

 

I wouldn't worry about something that old its not part of your work history going back 10 years. Most even with felonies only go back 7-10 years. I wouldn't worry about it and go on and apply for the job your interested in...worse they can say is no.

 

Most apps will ask you if your license has ever been revoked or suspended. If you answer yes, they expect a brief description of the circumstances. How you answer that is up to you, but it's doubtful the MVR they pull will show any suspension beyond 10 years, and especially if it was NOT a CDL. If that's all you have to be concerned about, I doubt if it's anything to make you un-hireable as a driver if you mention it as you describe here.

 

Which state you reside in? Reason I ask is because each state has different criteria for how long offenses stay on your driving record.
In my state, any alcohol or drug related violation, as well as suspensions/revocations, stay on your driving record for life.
Many states also offer 2 types of MVR records, one being a standard driving record (less details & shorter duration), and also a certified (court purpose) MVR record that is much more in depth and covers a longer time span.

If you have the standard record, but a background check uses a more "in depth" certified (official) MVR, there's still a chance your refusal and suspension could be on there, even tho it's over 10 years and (depending on company) likely won't interfere with future employment.

 

I've recently been talking to prime inc. And on my app I failed to mention 1 of 2 misdameanors for fishing without a licence and resisting. Its been about 2 years and was recently notified I have a warrant for my arrest. Just curious if that would be a reason to not hire my.

 

Also if you haven't driven in the last 3 yrs most of the big companies are going to want you to go back to driving school. I don't know if it's for insurance purposes or the get a kick back who the f--k knows
