Paid training??

I believe that's the way it works, you go to school complete it get your cdl and go to work for them after 30 days or so they will start paying for your school. The other option is to go to the company school and pay them back at so much a week. I have been wrong before.

 

The only way to get "paid training" is to apply for a WIA grant.

At this time that may be true...but it is worth a call and have yourself put on the list.
Every county has a list...some take longer that others.
It is one more option before signing on for a year or more.

 

I agree, I waited for about 3 months. I also found out whom in the job services district where I'm located at, was the one making the "lists". I called him numerous times. I had been told repeatedly that we have no funding. Finally I called, and was told, "let me see what I can do". Well guess what all of sudden, they seemed to have the funds. This was after being told just 2 days before that they didn't.

So another thing to keep in mind, is to keep on them about it. They tend to see how serious and committed you are. It might be a way they use to screen, finding out the ones that are dead serious about this, and would not be a waste of their time and taxpayer money.

 

Nice thing about company training is its interest free.
