Hi everyone, I just graduated private trucking school and just wanted to say hi here. I am having a problem with my old licensees still being valid. I'm calling them over and over but it is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. I have a TN CDL but my DR's are still valid in CA and LA. Has anyone here gone thru this? What did you have to do? Someone at the CA DMV said I have to mail them a form that would take 6 weeks to process. I can't not have a job that long. Any advice would be great. Also check out my post in the welcome wagon. It seems that place doesn't get many visitors.

you have a valid TN cdl.you want to drive for usx also based in TN.If you live in/based in TN,i fail to understand the issue.Perhaps go in person to the nearest TN license facility that deals with CDL's and inquire from within.

I have found it is always easier to deal with issues such as a license in person.People are much more willing to work w/you when in person.you can have the situation explained to you much easier when in person.

best of luck resolving the valid TN CDL issue.

I give up.what am i missing? hopefully the op can explain how a valid cdl is an issue even with an over 6 year old dui as declared @the welcome center.

usx says that my drivers licenses are still valid in other states so they have to clear that up. I would rather not drive across the country in 2 different directions when I'm broke and looking for a job. especally when I did nothing wrong, I turned in my licenses at the dmvs they just didn't do there job and cancel them. its been 3 days of calling Louisiana and a recording just says they are in a state of emergency and not answering the phones. I have a feeling they are always in a state of emergency.

Go back to the DMV and question them and if necessary talk to a supervisor.

Time to go,in person,to your nearest TN DMV.I promise that they can help you and if not, they can direct you you on what exactly to do.USX is not the DMV and they can not truly tell you why your license is coming up as it is.The TN DMV will be able to.

no need to stress.just physically/in person handle it.no more phone calls.no more USX recruiting.just get Djstocks in da howse to spinning the wheels and live and in person over to da TN DMV. peace out.(throwing gang signs as I type)

it will work out Dj.Let the TN DMV do their job so you can do yours.there may be a small fee not unlike when i transferred my Ga.cdl to alabama.,but we don't know.I mean it is still Valid in TN.they will straighten it out or point you in the right direction.you won't have to leave the state to get it right my forum friend.

I certainly WOULD NOT bother USX anymore until you get it straightened out.No need to wear out your welcome nor your job opportunity.show competence during this difficult period and earn respect from your future emplyer.USX can only tell you what they know which doesn't appear to be much at this pointt in time.

heck, get it straightened out and you may not want to drive for USX.

honestly man.when the big, bad, and scary "CDL" was just a vision,it was supposed to stop the multiple state issued license fiasco. That fact leads me to believe that there is some minor something that only the TN DMV can find and then repair since TN is the issuer.

I was grandfathered in so i missed all the hoopla.just don't ever allow your cdl to laspe.always renew it from this point forward even if you cease to drive commercially.

not being sracastic but if TN is the issuer, than whom else can or will? being a valid and current TN CDL is a positive thing since i am assuming that you are in TN as we post and you have an address that is in TN.

might as well go stand in line now and have a birth certificate, social security card, etc. in hand just in case.

keep us posted please.you may help another brother(or sister) from another mother and get'em hooked up on that truck driving highway to gloom and despair and agony on me.

sorry that was off of HeeHaw from way back.

a cdl will always be valid in all 50 states hence it being a cdl.at least that is what i have always assumed.you know what they say about assuming.

what could you be misconstruing or what could they be mispinterpreting? who knows.taking that trip to your closest TN DMV will hopefully put you on the right path.you will then know more than the USX recruiter and can follow up and through.
