What is it called when you own your own truck but still work for an O/O (oilfields) are you just a company driver still?

Are you on a 1099. Your life isn't your own whatever you want to call it.

So.. You own your own and run it under the o/o's authority correct?
Some say in this situation your still an o/o
    Others will say lease operator.

    magoo68 and DevJohnson Thank this.

You are almost like a company driver, if they tell when to go and where to go.

I would say if it is your tractor and you are pulling somebody else's trailer, under their authority you would be a power unit contract.

I may not have answered this the best way, sorry. Company drivers have a little less say in what they do than an O/O, or lease driver.

    magoo68 and DevJohnson Thank this.
