Okay, so I'm about 90% sure I'll be signing on with Swift for training this summer.
What I would like to know is would there be any advantage to going with Knight instead.
-They both train in the same area (Fontana).
-Both have the same time frame for training.
    -Training pay is the same.
    -Commitment is identical.
    -Freight is the same.
-I want to do reefer which both have.

So, is there an advantage one has over the other? Would I get more miles with Knight?
As far as I can tell, Knight has a better reputation and less ridicule from the trucker masses. Anything else?

    Enlighten me, please.

You do know they are the same company. Swift bought knight a few years back. You have the best of both worlds :)rolleyes::rolleyes:) in the same universe. Figure out what works best for you. You can try a variety of lanes because they offer van, flatbed, reefer,. etc. All the best to you on your journey

Yes, I am aware they are sister companies. But didn't Knight buy Swift?
Still, there's gotta be some difference other than the name on the side.
    Appreciate the encouragement :)

It is actually the other way around. Kevin Knight and Company are running the show. Jerry Moyes is back to running Central Freight. I'm sure he will milk it for all it is worth. Not quite sure why a mid 70's corrupt billionaire is interested in running anything. Go spend your fortune Jerry. The Trucking industry can do without you and your type......Ahhhhhhh.......that feels better!:D

You're correct. It's probably terminal to terminal & what freight areas they cover. I would just line it up to what you want to do. That's what really matters is long as you enjoy what you're doing

They are run and managed as separate companies. Swift is between 20-25,000 trucks. I think Knight is in the 5-6,000 range. Either one would be a good place to start. Spend your first year learning and keeping your record clean. DON'T HIT ANYTHING, Pick up and deliver on time. Learn to plan your trips and manage your clock. Those last two take time to learn. As you get better at those, your efficently increases, you run more miles, you make more money. Everybody needs to start somewhere. You will not become a "Truck Driver" overnight. There is a pretty steep learning curve your first year, if you make it that far. The vast majority don't. Good luck

I can't directly compare the two as I have only worked at Swift.
From what few Knight drivers I have talked with, I think I prefer Swift.

I guess, really, it's a toss of the coin then as far as training and pay.
What about trucks? One better equipped than the other?
