How does the process go for orientation?

I had 3 classmates get sent home and told to wait to hear back from them. Is this the case for everyone or what?

1 guy said he needed history for a misdemeanor back in 1985 and another said it takes them awhile to run a background investigation.

3rd guy was from England and has only been in the states less than a yr and only had a class C for less than a yr but was told that was fine if he got his Class A in which he did.

Im sorta freaked out cause from what the recruiter says is be prepared to be gone for six weeks and Im suppose to go on the 27th to Lathrop....

Most will get out of orientation and in a trainer truck fast, but life happens..... and yes be prepared to be gone long time like couple months.
And don't think BJ and the Bear prepared you for anything

If my recruiter isn't lying to me, my background check took a week.

Ok first make sure EVERYTHING you write down is accurate! be sure and listen to them when they tell you don't exaggerate on anything. follow directions be flexible. when I went thru they asked if I smoked and when I said no they were like OH! I said its not a problem if the mentor does and then they asked if I would mind a female mentor again I said no. the next day I left with a mentor while others sat waiting. and it was a male! jsut my experience back in the day.

I have to believe that our attitude, performance, and train-ability go a long way in determining our fate. Do not judge your potential by another's reality.

Good attitudes drive the world, bad attitudes sit and stew.

:biggrin_25514: If only everyone could see this point of view...since I've quit smoking, my attitude has become more and more positive every day :biggrin_25525:
