How are you getting jobs. I failed a test and was told the lab would be turning in my results to the dot. Is that not true

 

Hair follicle tests are not currently recognized by DOT. There's talk that may change, but I don't see it happening any time soon. They're not any safer, just can detect longer.

Not taking/ failing a hair test can prevent you from getting that particular job however since most of them are currently pre employment.

 

If you need to ask please do not get into trucking. If you are ready are please leave you dont need you.

I can't stand these standard issue comments that people use to feel better about themselves somehow. My buddy got a city job and used to smoke himself stupid. A couple months ahead of starting the process he quit smoking weed and hasn't touched the stuff since. He passed his piss test but wouldn't have passed a hair test back then. That does not change the fact that he QUIT! Unless your about to turn on everybody that has some beers on their days off too give it up. An average of 25 people a day die from alcohol related stupidity, how many die from smoking weed in their houses and being lazy? I don't smoke weed but holy crap get off the government propaganda and see it for what it is.

I agree. Don't even understand why people feel the need to even click on these threads just to say that stuff. Why even read it? Just ignore it and read something else.

 

If smoking weed was the only problem you might be correct. If you think thats the only thing that will show up your wrong. I click on threads like this and make comments because I care about this industry . It won't make much difference soon the FMCSA will make hair testing the standard.

 

What does hair testing matter? And it won't happen soon. Because hair testing is only about busting people, not safety.

But as long as someone could get stoned today, and still pass a hair test on Monday, it won't be the standard
