No we are making 1.05 a mile plus fuel surcharge. So 5,000 xs 1.05 is 5,250 but most of the time we go min of 200 miles empty. The other day we went 750 miles empty so those miles were .90 no fuel surcharge
New owner operators getting paid 1.05 loaded miles plus fuel surcharge and .90 empty miles.

Just a bummer when you see companies out here paying much more. This will change June 1 st.

We are now in a position to make some great money and just ready to do so. Feels like this month in a half is dragging on. Lol

1.05 is too low when most people won’t even move their truck for less than 2.00 a mile.

Like Midwest said stop thinking like company drivers. Focus on revenue not how many miles you can crank out in a week. I don't get the 3 year thing. You own the truck as long as your mvr is clean you can pretty much go anywhere

Sounds like JCT.
if you have a truck and produce those kind of miles you can wright your own ticket. You should be able to up your income by $1.00 a mile unless you have had some screwups along the way.blairandgretchen, bryan21384, slow.rider and 1 other person Thank this. -

the earnings , well, the profit , are what’s important ,
Back in the 90s when diesel was right around a dollar a gallon and a $15,000 used truck was a nice truck, I leased my tractor to a company that took 25% off the top, but they had almost unlimited freight from one location that paid considerably more than anyone else.
Fresh tropical fruit from central
America. And when the boat came in there was a mad scramble to find enough trucks to get it all delivered.
I was on my own for backhauls and I usually didn’t fool with them.
The outgoing freight paid $1.25 and the backhauls usually paid about 80 cents max and were hard to load because the preloaded trailer I hauled out with , was so small, everyone expected a 53 van and the trailers were 40 foot reefer banana shipping containers that were too small for most normal cargo loads.
The backhauls would take several hours to most of the day to load and most of a day to unload near home.
I actually made more money by deadheading 300 or 600 or more miles right back and grabbing another pre loaded trailer at 1.25
or not , my old truck was paid for and usually one 900 mile outbound trip per week was plenty of money for me.
I’d leave Monday afternoon and get back Wednesday morning with $700 in my pocket after fuel and all other expenses
Some weeks I’d do two or three . Just depended on how hard I wanted to work.blairandgretchen, Speed_Drums, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this.
