Think about it and break it down it was like $55 dollars per thousand pounds for 800 miles.
I paid $48 to ship 2 pillows to New York last week. -
Is the destination fee on new cars $900 so 9 cars should give 8100 i wonder who got the difference ?
-
Hammer166 Thanks this.

The fee used to be the actual charge to deliver the the car to the dealer. In the old days the end customer could actually save that amount by picking the car up themselves.
Then they averaged it so the dealer across the street from the plant conceivable paid the same fee as the one in Alaska.
Then they really fudged it by including all the transportation charges, parts delivery etc.
It's like a government statistic, the OEM makes it to be whatever they want it to be, nothing to do with reality.brian991219 and Hammer166 Thank this. -
