Anything taller than about 3 feet gets a twisted strap on the trailer. Have never had an issue
I ran two coils about 6 feet tall, chained them like normal but I threw a strap over the top because redundancy. However, the straps were still singing the whole ride. I put my whole 225lbs cinching them down.
Any idea why? Should I have done an extra twist on them? Is there such thing as too much twist?
Twisted straps were singing in the wind

Half twist is all it needs . Even when they get loose the twist keeps them from vibrating. Not sure how or why it works but it does. Are u using 4inch straps .? Or smaller ?

Straight straps act like an airfoil. Hence vibration.

Yeah I had them twisted and I cranked them down with everything gravity and me could give. They were still flappingsinglescrewshaker and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

Too many twists will vibrate IME. I almost majored in aerospace engineering, but switched to systems engineering, so beyond that tidbit, I can’t help you.

If the u shape is forward it will scoop the wind & vibrate..
When I put a half twist, put a click our 2 on the winch. Manipulate the strap by hand so C is into the wind, then give'er..
Zoom in, can see the rounded edge forward on all but the 4th one from the front.. I missed one, but low enough it didn't matter..
