I bought a truck recently and wanted to keep spare hub oil. Im not sure what’s in it now and from what I’m told there are different types of oil.
How to know the type of wheel hub oil to use?

You are talking steer axle hub oil?
I have some Lucas hub oil that I carry. It is thick as syrup and hopefully it will slow a leak down till I can get a seal replaced.
At least that is my way of thinking.86scotty Thanks this. -

Synthetic 75w-140 should work just fine.

I use Lucas hub oil, lubricates my seals, helps the seals to swell up. I don't have many problems with wheel seals since I started using Lucas.

I just learned of this stuff recently. Where do you guys get it? I'm sure dealer has it but I'm wondering if any regular auto parts stores have it. I'm sure the dealer overcharges.
