I know I'm not real popular right now.I mean I could always talk about the comment that was made of it being more preferable for Highlander to receive a good truck based on merit rather than this way. Wait? Eighteen years, 1.75 million miles isn't good enough merit?
However, my nickname at the last company I was employed, as a corporate trainer and manager, wasn't Miranda Priestly for nuffin. If you do not know who Miranda Priestly is, either watch or read "The Devil Wears Prada".
WERNER: Greg Werner says "just take the truck".

Both watched and read it. Thought the book was better, but the movie came out real nice, too. I know for a fact I could NEVER work for Miranda.

This actually is legal as they are exercising their options. However, IMHO, the compay isn't making as much money as they were the previous year (i.e. revenue is down, company profit is down) yet the higher ups seem to be making the same amount of money as in previous years.
Or the fact that non-dedicated drivers pay per mile is being cut, again, such as newbie drivers for Western Regional are now starting out at $0.21, down from $0.24 and down from $0.29.
Kinda reminds me of AIG.... where Dick Fuld made tons of money off of stock trades, yet those his company represented and traded for lost continually. I think Dick Fuld would have a wonderful future at this company.
I mean the Werner "Corporate Code of Ethics" states

Sorry, small deviation from the post topic, but still I think some good advice in here.
Well, let me put it this way. Those who were "newbies" to my training classes were afraid of me.. in the beginning. After they got to know me, it was a different matter. That I was the hardest trainer as I demanded they exceed the company requirements (not realizing that just by trying to meet my expectations, they would ALWAYS exceed company expectations, thus their job would never be in jeopardy.) Take the time to educate your employees, and train them correctly, and you will not have the frustraition from the employee or the customer they are "serving", and do it in a timely manner.
In the beginning they always though I was out to "get them". That is a technique I do not believe in. Unhappy and non-productive employees always come from three reasons: 1. motivation 2. education 3. poor management. Of course there is always the fourth, one that just wants to sit, not work, and receive a paycheck. (Sorry, not on my teams.) In future training sessions, from that point forward people nearly always requested me over other trainers. I even had a few cry when they could not get into my classes, which really surprised me. Needless to say, I told them they could have all my handouts from my classes and I would help them in anyway I could.
And higher ups couldn't really argue with me, because while other trainers turnover rates in training were 50-60%, mine were around 30%. And once they were out of training, other trainers turnover rates were still around 50-60% while my students were around 10%. Then comparing other trainers students versus mine, my students were always around 40-45% higher in production/sales/customer satisfaction/one call resolution. So they couldn't argue with me.. they tried however.. I let numbers speak for themselves.
And while employees have a commitment to the company to do their job, so did the higher ups have a commitment to the employees beneath them to do their job. They also learned I would stand up to higher-ups for them if such a incident required it otherwise, I would put the student in their place basically telling them to quit whining. That they had a choice, to work or quit. Bottom line.
The nickname actually came from a executive as a joke, and a few of my students learned about it... and it stuck. I took the nickname with pride.
Thats all..................

Yeah, my Mom used to train her sales crews the same way when she worked basement waterproofing. Her people used to call her the "Dragon Lady", haha. So did my school administrators, for some reason

UPDATE:
Well the wire harness has been replaced, both grommets have been replaced however, there is now a severe vibration in the truck that wasn't as bad as it was prior to the grommets being replaced. So guess what..... another day not on the road. Their alignment specialist will be in tomorrow and is going to check it out.
So what are we up to now, how many days with no miles and no pay after his truck, which absolutely nothing was wrong with, was sold out from underneath him and replaced with this POS remembering that Greg Werner said "just take the truck"? So now 11 days and 1,200 miles total. And he/I/we are not suppose to be upset? Time to start selling stock since he has no income......
And trying to call the local office from which he is dispatched to let them know the update at 3:30pm, results in absolutely no one in the office.
I'm starting to understand why some of the hold music on the phone system at Werner sounds like circus music, because it really seems like a three-ring circus with all of this.
Oh, and Hi guests! Lemme guess and the first two guesses don't count. -
BTW, thanks to everyone who is sending PMs!

Here's the Saturday morning update!
The truck is not done. After realignment, which according to what I heard the mechanic say, the truck was severely out of line, but there is still a severe vibration in the truck at 45mph to the point the mechanic stated that it feels like the front end is about to come out from underneath it. And it continues to pull to the right as it has since the truck was assigned to Highlander (remembering the damage on the left side).
The motor mounts have been checked, transmission mounts have been checked. Based upon overhearing the conversation between Highlander and the mechanic at Freightliner, the mechanic stated that this truck has obviously been bounced over a very high curb based upon the damage outside on the body and the scrapes/etc that are underneath and thinks at this point the steering cross member may be bent. This is the next thing to be checked.
But the good thing is that it now has 8th back!
He again tried to contact the local office to give them an update, and gee, what a surprise.. again no one answered, twice. So he called Ohama dispatch to give them an update, you know.. the CYA thang. Believe it or not, he's been assigned a load.. a shag load to be delivered on Monday............
The insanity continues...
Tick-tock.. tick-tock.....
What time does the market open on Monday morning?
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Now that is pathetic.

Okay, here's the final Saturday update, and probably no further until at least Monday, bar anything major happening.
The truck is still at Freightliner, and they are now closed. They don't know what is wrong with the truck however, they are open on Sunday and going to continue checking out the truck. Highlander still has a load assigned to him for a Monday morning delivery.....
The one thing that was said by Freightliner is that at one point and time it appears the drive shaft did come out of the truck, due to the scratches and marks on the frame. Additionally, it appears that one of the yokes, specifically the one on the transmission, had been replaced, because it is fairly new.
"As sand through the hourglass, these are the lost driving days of a Werner driver...."
Tick tock... tick tock.... -
