And I think that's what has happened here, even though it's Saia, I think for me it works, I have been here long enough to know what to expect and what I have here, I have absolutely no ambition to move on to another company, even when I see the rarely posted jobs for OD, UPS Freight, R+L ect (ltl companies for the most part in my area don't hire to often) so I may have a perfect fit thing going on here, I think the only way I would ever move on is getting fired or just quitting trucking completely, only question is what to do after that, aside from a little bit of wrenching I did in the service, trucking is about all I know.

 

I have never ran team but I could only imagine, teams make great money but that has to be a rough life style, lots of time in the truck and I don't how those guys can actually get some good sleep in those things while rolling down the road.

 

They don't pay enough of a premium to drive teams for the sacrifice. But if you had a team already, husband and wife, etc. and you wanted to get on with a premium paying company, then teams may be your ticket in.

 

Among us theres only one person who will be hauling wiggles wagons after retirement and that my friends would be @KaoMinerva he will be the number 1 driver in Estes.

 

That could be cool, but my wife doesn't have a cdl and has no interest in it, besides me and her can't even manage a trip down to our local circle k for a booze run without me saying something smart ### to her about her driving.

 

It's hard. 4 bendryl works wonders.

 

No they dont. But neither does sitting home 2 days week cause these LTL places got no freight. Sometimes you gotta run along the fence until you find a place you can hop over.

I got no bills and not trying have any. When she's done I can be done. No more college pay for.

But teams should pay what UPS pays. Everywhere. R+L pretty light on pay. But it's same every week.

 

Yeah, teaming at UPS is pretty good. Those guys make in three and a half or four days what day cab guys make in five. Sometimes more, depending what they're doing.

Friend of mine, coincidentally teams at RL in China Grove, burnt his stomach liner to the point of an operation from abuse of Advil PM trying to day sleep in the team truck.
