I did but a little to late. I hate doing that though cause then you get the "Windows detected an improper shut down.... Checking hard drive for errors... Click here if you promise to never do that again"

I managed to deliver 1 load from OKC to London KY. It went back to the shop Monday nite, been there ever since! I was told every computer on the truck is fried, every switch on the dash has been replaced! Now they are talking about replacing every wire on the truck! It still wont regenerate the #### DPF! The company I "work" for has a truck that someone has quit in Columbus, so today I packed as much stuff as I could in 1 bag and I am on a bus to pick up a different truck.

Well, since being struck 3 weeks ago, I turned 2500 miles. Most of that has been since this past Saturday when I got my new truck assignment! My wife is really worried b/c we lost 9 days of work and as a result, no bills get paid for this month except food and gas for her car.
Currently I have a load to London, KY that delivers on the 26th. That's also where my old truck is in the shop. I will retrieve the rest of my belongings and move them into my new truck. I'll also find out and report here what the final damage and costs were to the old truck.

Man, you predicted it almost perfectly! Except they placed All The dashboard switches and had to completely re-wire the headlights from the dash to the hi/lo switch on the column to the headlights and back!
All total: 12 days in the shop, 2 weeks of lost wages, and almost $10,000 in repair bills! And I was ?lucky? enough that I was assigned a different truck to drive so I had to move all my garbage, but I dont think I really wanted the old one back! I dont think it'll ever be the same!

Hmmmm.. You could also have pitted wheel bearings and possible tire damage from a lightning strike. (Steel belted tires)

two years ago I got Iveco Euro Star hit by lightning in workshop. Cab got in fire but driver used botle with mineral water and saved truck.

Engine ECM was damaged. It is amazing, but flash memory and EPROM were ok and I desoldered them to dump all memory to my laptop and reflash other ECM.

Board was toasted, processor was "killed".

    No other damage.

Roof of cabin got the hole, about 2 mm diameter.

Last update: I was issued another truck.

About 3 months later, I saw the original tractor at another company yard. I asked the driver if the company ever re-programed the ECM so it was governed like all the other company trucks. Without saying a word, I could tell by his sly smirk:biggrin_25525: that the ECM was never touched and he could go as fast as he wanted.

He asked me if I was going to turn him in. I said "Hell no!" Just be careful and don't get caught!
    :biggrin_25511:

I never did find out how much money Knight spent on that tractor, last I knew it was over $15,000!
