Can you do part time trucking?

I mentioned these cause i personally know friends working in noted fields and they make over 6 figures

 

I know several people all women that make really good money doing part-time sales. I know a guy that works as a plumber and only works maybe 4 months out of the year. As to stocks? Right now I am just under 60 days from my 62nd birthday. I have been fully retired since Dec 2012. I still have not taken a dollar of Social Security of any form. I do qualify for disability. I am living off my stocks, mutual funds, and other investments. @Chinatown is doing much the same. Also, I am adding to the corpus of those investments and not depleting them. Anybody that tells you it's automatic you will lose money is a bit daft!

 

I wouldn't say there's NO p/t work, it's just in trucking, it's hard to come by. Every driver here, I bet, had investigated doing a p/t gig, and it never works out. There are seasonal jobs, drive 'round the clock shuttling trailers for a harvest for a month, or something, but it's all about economics and having to be efficient. For example, and it's happened to me, I did a p/t gig for a friend, one load of cheese from Marshfield, Wis to Pa. "come right back", he said. Well, after that, he wanted me to just "swing over to Wilkes-Barre PA" for some stupid back haul, that may or may not have existed, I was the only one in the area, you know. I came right home empty, and that was that.

Go to the truckstop and youll see plenty of limping, bent over 300+ lb disabled drivers who can barely get to the nacho dispensor without peeing their pants. Youll be fine.
