Huh....at my former DC I was told by a manager that duration didn’t matter as long as it didn’t go over the 10 min/call and 60min/day driveline. If I wanted to make 60 one minute calls I could...that’s what I was told and what all the drivers I knew did...slim6596 and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Yes, that's how it was a couple of years ago when I left. When they started the phone policy there was talk of random phone checks bur they decided not to.

Rugerfan Thanks this. -
A driver from my old DC got fired for texting while driving. He said he sent a text message while parked on the ready line but it actually didn't leave his phone till a short time later when he was driving. Management didn't see it that way so he was shown the door.

it went threw on the driveline. they had no choice.

the phone policy applies for yard move also. so remember that.

If you’re in a bad service area do not text. You will end up like the guy who texted but it didn’t go through until after he regained service. Unfortunate situation.

This is incorrect. The only thing that applies is 10max per call and 60 min total per day on the drive line including yard moves. The number of calls a day doesn't matter.T.Rucker, slim6596 and truckdriver31 Thank this.
