The exact part dealing with the 100 air mile exception is (395.1(e)).

The problem it would seem to me, if your drivers run more than 8 days in 30 days when they would require an eld, if they go over 12 hours, that would also require an eld, and there isn't one in this vehicle.

I just signed up here. Looks like a great website.
Yes, as I understand the short haul HOS exemption, the driver must return to base (sleeper berth does not qualify) within 12 hours of going in duty. Driver can be on Duty longer but cannot drive until taking 10 hours off duty.

Not for the short haul time card exemption.
For the time card exemption 3 things must be true.
1 Start/stop in the same location (you can use sleeper, but that would be an edge case)
    2. Be relieved of duty within 12 hours of coming on duty.
    3. No more than 100 air mile radius. Unlimited miles inside that radius.

Now for normal graph logging and using the 11/14 clocks, you one can work however long they want, but the moment a driver is on duty more than 12 hours he must graph log that day.

P.S. Since you are new I'll give you a little hint before you get in trouble. X1 talks a lot, but not necessarily truthfully. Sometimes he's simply wrong and sometimes he's flat out lying. Don't take post count as knowledge.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Thanks for the heads-up and for correcting my error.
I am a farmer, o/o who usually hauls AG exempt Commodities locally. Frankly we had not paid much attention to how we were exempt, only that we were exempt. The eld has been an eye opener.
I was clearly mistaken (a senior moment) on a short haul driver being able to work after 12 hours on duty. I should have looked that up before I posted it. Thx!
I am struggling with how to get my VDO RoadLog to print my annotations for AG exemption. It looks like I login EXEMPT within the 150 mile radius, then logout & log back in as NON-EXEMPT until I return to the 150 mile radius. At that point I apparently logout and log back in as EXEMPT, annotating all of the changes.
I put an ELD in my personal pickup just to learn. It hasn't allowed me to print those annotations.
    Thx for any guidance.

Their site says: Call "855 Roadlog"

Are they not able to answer your question?
