That looks like a big leak, I would think if it’s dripping fuel is sucking air. My primer doesn’t push fuel trough the stem.

How much pressure can the tank handle?

That’s the perfect set up, I think yu posted that once. I used a mini air compressor, plugged into a cigarette lighter, hooked to vent tube fitting, crimped other tanks vent tube, after changing an injector. It took a long time, but eventually worked. I put 20 lbs, which was way too much. I hear about 4-6 lbs is plenty. I keep the little compressor onboard now, in case I ever lose prime, and don’t have air in Trucks brake system. I’m told some of the newer Trucks have a built in fitting.I had cranked it withjumper cables, till starter was smoking, it wouldn’t start. I had called Petro, they sent a Truck out, Guy tells Me, I don’t have the special fitting, can’t pressurize tanks, against policy. No charge, at least.I never cared for the Cat primer pumps. Plastic always prone to leaks, same with plastic separator bowls. Freeze and crack. I did away with the one on my current Truck, after the heater element went bad. It was pricey. Not needed on a Detroit, anyway.

Yep I did post it before. Just easier to use by yourself.Just pump a couple of lbs in and turn the valve off to hold the air in the tank. As long you have air in the tanks, but like your idea having a portable compressor though.

I saw a Guy on Utube, just use a rag and blow gun. While someone cranked it over. It was an ahh hah moment. Lol. I put 20 lbs in it, it ran for 30 seconds, and died. Had to bleed air out, crack filters loose, it was a mess, Lol. Afterwards, a shot of ether, and it ran.It took Me longer to get started, than changing injector did. Live and Learn.

I won’t say it’s good, but no big deal, The Old Trucks always got a shot in cold weather. Always warned about using too much, the claim was they get addicted and need it to start, if so. Lol. Don’t know , but must be something to it.
