Using an 8 gig SD card........the web site says up to 10 hrs but It only seems to be close to 7 hrs. It records 6 min clips and runs continually deleting the 6 min clip at the start each time so a 6 min clip from 7-8 hrs ago is deleted. It saves the file as an AVI file. Works great just got it to save my ##### in case of a screw up :biggrin_25512:

i googled dash cam, and just about every link was the one u have, i almost got that one but was not to sure about it, id like to find one that will record for 5 hours or so, and not delet as yours does. i no they are out there, just rather expensive,
i got one of those logitec web cams too, but its useles in the day light, its just a bright blur, thats all, but i no someone out here uses the logitc, any ideas on how to not make it so bright that u cant see anything at all except the uderpass?

We have those in our company trucks. They were put there to help the company fight any false claims against them in case of an accident. Lately it has become a tool to fire drivers who violate company policy.. Lost 7 drivers this yr alone because of it..

I had the same problem and then I decided that the camera was picking up UV rays. I took two pair of sunglasses (one with a darker lens than the other) and I velcroed them together and then velcroed that in front of the lens. At night the velcro tab lets me remove the sun glass lenses (basically a UV filter) and then I can easily put them back in place in the day. I love the peace of mind of running video on my laptop at all times.

You might find just the right lens where you only have to use one but I experimented and found the right combination with two different ones. Just go get yourself a pair of cheap sun glasses!

I forgot to say that I clipped everything off of the sun glasses except for the actual lenses.

cdl that souds like a good idea, never thought of that, to late now, just ordered a dash cam like the one here the driver uses in his truck,
tho, i walked past 4 different cr englend trucks, all new trucks, and it looked like they all had some type of pro cam mounted on the top part of the windshield... i could be wrong, but it def looked like a cam.
    anybody no of this?

soon2be, no problem. I like the dash cam that you just ordered but I still think the price is a little steep. Another reason I'll stay with the laptop and logitech is to have audio so that I can narrate what's going on and if I'm pulled over it will capture my comments to the police and their comments to me. I can also save my video files for a long time in case a complaint comes in on me I can go right back to when the alleged violation is and disprove the persons allegation.

I wouldn't mind having the dash cam you ordered for my personal vehicle because I don't want to take the time and effort to set up my laptop.

I think the sweet spot would be to get this camera under the $100 mark. How cheap does this camera have to get for most drivers to decide to buy? I would love to hear some replies to that just out of curiosity.
