Steele.
Yes....production companies pay someone with 6 months sr. the same as someone with 15 yrs. Doesn't happen often but it happens. This is the big league now.
It is not right but man if Highlander is gonna stick it out it really shows how ignorant he is.

Then if wants to reach his goal that bad of 20 years and 2 million miles shut up about it and stop whining about the treatment he is receiving.
If these issues are big enough to create 15 pages then they should be big enough to quit and move on to a company that will appreciate him as a driver. -
Nice, coming from a self stated "wanna be" trucker, need I say more. Perhaps it is because of your attitude that you are a "wannabe" and not "a trucker."
Reality bites, eh? Your opinion is useless without experience. At least you have the experience of being a ratchetjaw.
BTW, the check engine light is now coming on intermittently............doubledragon5 and oldawg51 Thank this. -
Steele,
For your information......I just returned from a 4900 mile trip from Michigan down to Oklahoma, through Nebraska and on through I-70 through Colorado and then on up to Montana for a 4 day visit with some friends and then back through the Dakota's to Michigan. I did this in a truck (pic of truck attached) and a 48' trailer that I own. Not a company truck but a truck that I own. Not a bank, but one that I own.
Hmmmm.......what do you drive besides the bag of chips to your mouth?
You see miss smart ##&, I am smart enough to know that the trucking industry is not for me. But I love semi trucks and have great admiration for those that do this for a living and am man enough to admit that I could not.
So again, I am tired of hearing all of the ######## coming from you. Either do something about the situation and move on to a company that will value Highlander or shut the hell up. -
This has been a interesting topic. One about a company we all no so well.. Here is a poster, telling a story about something that is happening to someone she knows. We see this all the time.. But what I'm getting tired of already, is people like the previous poster, who basically don't understand what this topic was originally about and getting all mouth with the person who started this thread.. People who have one yr or less or none at all trucking experience, doing nothing more than slamming the poster for her comments.. Please get over it all ready, and if you can't be positive, then do us all a favor and don't post at all.. If this keeps up then I will point this thread in the direction of the mods...
oldawg51 Thanks this. -
Please do......perhaps they will close the thread and we won't have to hear about it again.
It is amazing to me how you can state that I don't know anything about this topic. This topic has nothing to do with trucking....it has everything to do with how you treat an employee. Highlander's wheels are not turning so trucking has nothing to do with it.
I have over 15 years of MANAGEMENT experience. That means that I manage people and I understand how to treat them. I also understand what managers or employers do when they have an employee that they don't appreciate and want to get rid of but can't for legal reasons.
The bigger question is if this topic is about a company that you k"no"w all so well, then why do we have 15 pages of this stuff? I mean is this a surprise to anybody? Isn't this like walking into a cage with a lion and being surprised when you get attacked? I mean how stupid can you be? -
This entire thread looks like a lesson in Capitalism. Companies are in business to make money. Some of them do it well, some do not. Some treat their employees well, some do not. Some care about image, some do not.
Being profitable is what is most important to most companies as they would like to stay in business and continue to make money, after all is this not why people start businesses in the first place?
Some care about how this affects their employees while others do not. -
Doubledragon5 please do report tmlonghorns to the mods and anyone else who has been rude and ### a nine, i for one am tired of tolerating people who are not truck drivers and are not in the trucking business to come in here and slam drivers and theyr better half. tmlonghorns do us a favor and go away.
Delirious Nomad and doubledragon5 Thank this. -
Companies that use lots of students don't get paid by the government, they get a tax credit for every student that stays for a year. It was passed in one of transportation bill years ago.
Only direct funding is through the VA like you state.

Because of numerous rude and flame like post's this thread is being closed
Please do not carry this argument over in any other threads
