I used my vicegrips on the handle and cranked it up. It actually ended up being easier than i thought it would be. Luckily i was in st louis and brought it to the edwardsville OC to get a brand new one on. 20200308_141701_HDR.jpg

The worst part is that the OC was only 20 miles from where the trailer was. They could have gotten it fixed and wouldnt have even taken more than 10 minutes but thats schneider for you. Lol.

You should ask for a spare and some hardware to carry with you for next time.
Or just take that one when you're finished.

It's very likely that the handle was there when the last driver dropped it, but someone left it sticking out. Then someone backing in next to that trailer knocked it off.

    Or someone stole it.

Yep. You kinda need one to let them down too.

Every now and then you'll find one laying about. Grab it and hold on to it for just such occasions. I kept one for about 3 years until I had to use it one day. I left it on the trailer with a kinda half a@@ed job of attaching it. But it was there for the next guy.
But the vice grips was a good idea. I'll remember that
