Yeah... ol' Tater is running like a champ. And they finally got the lockset in for the driver's door, so now I don't have to keep crawling over the passengers seat everytime I want to get out and lock the door. Apparently, one of the guides or brackets that holds the clutch cable in place was loose and it was a simple fix. Certainly seems to work much better. But good to have my old buddy back. The other truck that I used that one day was, shall we say, not up to par.... and I will leave it at that.

The scaling thing was another adventure in itself. They loaded me heavy to the rear, so I ended up sliding my tandems to the 13th pin position. Sorta surprised me that I had to go back that far, but I got it taken care of. And I zipped right through the scales, so apparently they approved.

Well, tomorrow brings hometime for the weekend. Been a toughy this week. But that's ok 'cuz there is a bottle of Southern Comfort sitting in the fridge waiting for me hehehehehehe. Then back on the road Monday AM for the next big adventure.

    Ya'll take care!

    MEGA ARF!

    Hey bud -

Yeah that is an understatement. Trying to get in as much as I can and, well, I asked for it, and I got it.

Been basically running 11 hours, shutting down for 10, then right back at it for 11. To give you an idea, last Tuesday, came back on the road, drove to East NC, picked up a load of engines at 1130 am and delivered in Grand Island, Nebraska at 945am on Thursday. Then ran over to Shelby, IA, picked up a load around 2pm. Delivered that load Friday at 130pm just outside of Fargo, ND. Even had time to pick up "the trainer", who was resetting in Fargo, to let him "evaluate my progress" (yeah, we thought it was a good excuse too). It was great to see him.

Saturday, I hung out in Fargo, washing Tater, and then watching the Air Show with the Blue Angels. Very cool.

Sunday (today) I got rolling at 7am, left Fargo, ran to Park Rapids, MN, sat on the dock for 3 hours, got loaded and took off. After fighting my way through traffic from as far out as 20 miles from Minneapolis, I finally popped out the southern edge, Tater hunkered down, and we took off for Iowa (again). Arrived and delivered in Mason City at 8pm tonight. Then, with 3 minutes left on my electronic log, I shut down in Clear Lake, IA.

Tomorrow (Monday), I run to Gaylord, MN, pick up a load, and deliver it to Selma, NC Wednesday morning at 10am. I am scheduled for hometime F-S-S, and I am hoping that I can run some local drop and hooks Wed and Thurs. Then I am going to collapse.

Other than that..... I've just sorta been a bum :?)

Sorry for taking so long to update ya'll.

Oh yeah.... the book is completely done. Now I am looking to get it published (you know, in a fancy cover and all). I will probably be selling an electronic version that you can download.

And a double "Oh Yeah".... I totally forgot to mention.... I did get my $500.00 deposit back from Max. I love it when a plan comes together.

    Hey!

I haven't been on in a while, but I saw a Magnum truck in Tulsa today at Tulsa Cold Storage. I want to say it was truck number 674, but I could be mistaken. First time I've seen one of you guys around here.

Glad its workin out for ya. We had some changeovers anytime they make changes over the years, like when the cut us down, went to E-log, and now the recent paycut. 5% accross the board. I don't mind driving 65 or slower to build points, seem to get me home if its fargo or minneapolis regular like, keep me rolling when freights decent, top notch dispatchers. My supertruckin days are over, but I am ok with not going to jail if it ever hit the fan. Only bad things I have to say really is the recent paycut, and the way I suspect they tarnish DAC reports on purpose for maintenance issues, tires, rock chipped windshields, drivers who are in no fault situations like backed into. I don't plan on leaving the company, take the good with the bad really. Totally agree this is a good starting company and they made some improvements like in detention pay. Wish I could still have my dog riding with me but she is almost 15 years old. I don't get on here much n didn't get a chance to read much your posts, but keep the wheels rollin best ya can.
