His truck exploded & burned. The bridge was burned by the fire which weakened the steel so the bridge had to be replaced. Bridge wasn't blown up.

Wouldn't matter much in CA as we are almost all paid hourly. It's the only way to go in the big city's too many delays.

Running at night makes it alot easier to get in and out of stations, hell some weren't even open when we would deliver.

Someone here said working outside in all types of weather, I did think about that but forgot to mention it earlier. Although doing otr I have to walk 300 ft to go to the bathroom in all types of weather. And I have stood outside pumping fuel in single digits with 20 plus mph winds not to much different than having to unload a gas tanker in bad weather imo.

Even though I don’t live in ca and I don’t work for them doesn’t pacific tank lines pay by the load?. I have read reviews about them which said they pay by the load. I was considering living in ca probably not anymore.

Load outside...drop outside...do 5-6 loads in a shift...your thinking will change. You can sit in the truck if you want, however good luck keeping the job.

They are one of the few that pays by the load and is why their turnover is so high. I hear if you stick it out for awhile they put you on hourly pay. Freaking weird. But you got plenty of better options in California the two biggest common carriers are both over $30hr with OT and will give you as much work as you can handle.

I only haul aviation fuels. JetA and AvGas. Have no problem with it. Easy in and out, good looking girls at the FBO’s and some even provide snacks or sandwiches!!
    Winning!
One draw back is the fact that AvGas is 100 octane and 8000 gallons will make for one hell of a fire!

ive worked outdoors in all types of weather. Used to spend 8 hrs a day outside shoveling snow and spreading salt in the past and been up to knees often and occasionally my waist. I’m still pretty sure I’ll like it better than otr. I’ll keep you updated on whether or not I like it.
Also one must dress appropriately for cold weather.
