Best Advice for New Female drivers

Its a shame that a woman can't even walk from her truck to the store with out everyone thinking she's a lot lizard. Where has this world gone . Don't get me wrong i love women but i was always told to treat them with all due respect , Its a shame the way truck drivers treat woman that drive trucks!!! I sometimes think how would they feel if it was there wife or worse there daughter that was getting treated that way. But some people can't even respect there self so what do you expect.

 

It is a shame but it is a man's industry , always has been and will always be. Not saying it is right but women know this going into it and all the crap they have to put up with it not surprising.

With the way some women project themselves by acting like a flirt , looking like trash and just plain hooker looking it messes it up for women who act like a lady and demand to be treated in this manner.

It drives me crazy to see women wearing really short anything and their ##### hanging them out.

Women with fake ##### are the worst , I guess they figure paid for them might as well show em.

I have natural 36 DD to E depending on the brand of bra's. Somehow I manage to keep them put up. I do not want other men checking them out all the time , it makes me uncomfortable .

 

Powell-Petra not all smokers are bad. Many like myself learn to smoke when we were in the military DEFENDING YOUR RIGHTS. I'm cautious around anyone who I just met male or female. Yes I do know the hazards of smoking since I watched my Grandfather die from lung cancer.

 

I don't understand "do not trust anyone who smokes". What does that have to do with anything?

Well, thankfully, I've met more nice and respectful male drivers than jerks out here. And thankfully, I can drive a truck in America and live my life on the road, the way I always wanted it to be.... That wouldn't be possible in the country I came from ...too much machismo there.
I always try to keep a low profile, and being a skinny, almost flat chested woman helps... cause I don't have much flesh to hide

 

I see your from Mi., so chances are you,ll run mostly northern states. I would work as much as you can before winter hits and really apply yourself. Practice different set ups and backing up, because truck stops don,t plow much.You might have to park in a 23inch blizard and you get 1 chance to hit it. Never use the jake brake in winter, pay attension of how your trailer is loaded,and quickly learn how to slide the tandems so you have weight for grip. Always have your cb on drivers are talking about where the black ice is, and wrecks,etc. Last winter was the worst plowing and salting ever, the states don,t have the budget so you,ll have to be on your game. Never use the cruise control in winter. Example last winter with a empty trailer,had 90 mi. of thick black ice,late at night truck stops where full, so everyone putts alond 20-25mph,a gust of wind pushes the trailer out, so you push the clutch in and steer to compensate.If your driving on a snow packed road, and then park, move the truck back and forth to cool the tires,if you just park the truck will burn a hole down and your stuck, the tires are hotter if your on a dry road of course.Don,t set the trailer breaks in winter,slush,snow will freeze your brakes.You might drop and hook and your brakes are froze,so carry a 2lb.hammer,propane torch,heat the drum under the brake pad, then just hit the brake drum-liner and the pad popps off,wear glasses to keep rust or ice chunk out of your eyes. The tractor brakes only have 1 brake shoe on, so use your judgement. Carry a crowbar for the 5th wheel, they like to stick in the winter. Have your procedures and never skip one like not checking if the 5th wheel is locked in, in winter the lock arm doesn,t always come across,propane torch and crowbar are then needed. Best of Luck
