My boss is requiring me to drive OTR in a day cab, and suggests that I sleep in cars. I have tried but am unable to get decent rest. I have 2 questions.
1) If you are driving otr in a day cab, are you required to stay in a hotel?
2) Is the boss required to pay for your hotel?
Are hotels required for day cab driven OTR

If you are driving his truck otr whose car does he expect you to sleep in. Do you liik for one that is unlocked and just get in?
-
Just don't sleep in your cab. It will not count towards your 10 hour break. You can sleep Under your truck.

I haul cars.

Man I read some of your other thread. I know times are tough.. but find something better. Leave the fly by night below the radar trucking for drivers that have dirty DAC's and horrible driving records. Get a hazmat endorsement and go local fuel. Home every night or day and better than $600 a week. (I'd rather run fuel at night anyway) Getting a hazmat isn't that hard. Just time consuming and takes some cash.
I was offered a hot shot deal awhile back and when it came down to brass tacks the guy wanted me to sleep in the extended cab of the truck... that was a deal killer. I'll live out of a sleeper.. but not a pickup. So I'll be ###### if I sleep in a car up on a rack. I'm sure it would be good for a laugh outta the dot man when he found you and figured out some way to fine ya for it. -
I sort of figured that out after I posted. Sometimes things work just a little ahead of my brain. -
Well it is no longer a concern. I fired my boss. But I am still curious, in case I end up in a similar situation.
