My last employer used dozens of temp drivers. Employees were required to look like Opie Taylor from Mayberry. Temp drivers could have face tattoos, piercings, and sacrifice goats to Baal in the trucks. Drug test? I think the temp company tested them. If a stranger walked in the driver room and said "I'm from the temp company" he could have stolen trucks and trailers.

I work for J Rayl, good outfit that hired me with no truck driving experience (20 years as a bus driver). They have a yard in Houston. Definitely worth calling them.

Example, there's a certain autopart's store chain distribution center, they called for a driver at noon, I was there at 4pm, they handed me a route sheet, 16 stops 400 miles, a key-ring, Alarm code book and said have a nice night, then looked suprised at 7am when I returned with it complete, They ask any problems, I just said no, why would there be. I covered routes for them for 3 months, No when they hire someone to work for them direct there trained for 6 weeks and go through a extensive background check, Strange.
