Trucking in North America vs around the world

I can normally drive but by a truck, as long as drivers have no high temperature they can drive.

By a car if you come to Poland you have to have 2 weeks quarantine. Foreginers are not allowed at all.

Planes/trains/coaches are shut down.

 

So the Polish working abroad will be very happy................not.

 

If you live close to border and work for example in Berlin you are allowed to travel (as long as you have no high temperature).

There are few expetions, but generally Poland pretty much shut down it's borders.

 

here they will introduce rule that truck drivers can pass borders if they dont have temp. but they will not be allowed to leave dedicated parking when they are here, so no weekend with family or similar.

strange and interesting, we have some mine fields left from war so you dont want to cross border everywhere.

 

If you read the stories from the Spanish Flu, some towns would ban all visitors (with armed guards stationed at the entrances of the towns), and truck drivers would be told to stay in the cab while their trucks were being unloaded.....

History repeats itself....

 

Eveyone is talking about food and medicine trucks being allowed but life isn't that simple.
i haul chemicals.
Those are base products for a lot off things.
Masks,medicines,cleaning off foodfacilities,.....
Keeping the economy going is about more then making money.
It's a chain whereby if you take a link out you might crash the whole supply system.

Stop the chemicals, then what are you going to package your food in? That's only one degree of separation.

We haul animals and animal feed. If we can't haul feed in, no animals to haul out. Not really a complex system, but if we can't haul feed, it's going to get dicey right pronto.
