ok. so i have escaped the dreadfu werner and moved to roehl. i think i managed to get it bc my step dad drives(drove) for them. he no longer does for a reason i think is ########, but thats another story. ny big issue is this....
i told them upon starting that i wasnt in this for money. i love the job, however i have been averaging close to 3000 miles a week which i am NOT complaining about. i have been very satisfied with roehl thus far, but my issue took place last friday. i have been runnin very well, and the locale of where ive had to take my break has put me in no vacinity whatsoever of a decent truckstop. ive been in canada and out of hours is jersey etc and having to sleep at the consignee every night or at a random rest area for the last ten days with no time to stop for one due to tight loads. i consider it doing my part for my dispatcher and company, without gripe. however after all this, i was stuck without hours in plattsburgh, ny for a restart. i needed to get my trip sheets in to be paid for the week and as i was trying to explain to my dispatcher how i could fax the paperwork and have someone at the terminal help me out by scanning it in, she constantly interrupted me with "nope cant do it. nope, nope." which really pissed me off. i ran my ### off and did my part, but they wont help me out. im a day away from home time in south ga and im still in jersey. i denied a load to canada but have agreed to take one from here to indiana. here is my thing. i have a good friend of that family that recently got a huge promotion with sysco atlanta. he woks directly under the preident of sysco atlanta. hes going to try his best to get me in with them. i only have ab 7 months exp and idk if that will matter bc of the pull he has or if its an insurance requiement. either way i am considering staying w roehl if they will give me a better truck w apu and a dispatcher that i want. would i just be better off leaving and going with sysco if possibe? thanks guys.
left werner for roehl....issue suggestions???

Stay with Roehl , get the experience. It sounds as if your doing very well for miles\money. Keep it up and you will be fine.
It might not hurt to buy a scanner for your computer in the truck, than you can scan from anywhere you have service. This assumes you have internet access, and not knowing the filing procedure at Roehl for their payroll and billing -
You're getting 3k a week in miles, and complaining about missing payroll???
So what payroll didn't get it this week. They'll get it next week. I do it all the time, it's no biggy unless you get paid once a month and had a months worth of trip paks to turn in.
You can always call Fed-X or UPS to pick them up. I've done that too.Baack Thanks this. -
like i said previously, im not upset with the fact that i missed payroll. im upset that i have been separated from society and not been able to shower for almost ten days or have a hot meal in the same time period. im upset that the dispatcher interrupted me with the nopes and cant do it, especially bc i talked to another dsr that says he does it for his drivers all the time. its a scratch my back and ill scratch yours situation where mine still itches. i really enjoy running for roehl, but im definitely getting a new dsr if im going to stay. she sounds too #### depressed and sad all the time anyways.

Well, I do not know about the company you are running for, but there is NO WAY I would go 10 days without a shower.

So in your 10 days you could not manage to pull into a pilot for 30 minutes and grab a shower? Roehl primarily fuels at pilot so it would have been free. I have been with Roehl for a couple years and that just sounds absurd. The windows are never so tight you cannot stop and shower for 10 days. Especially on weekends when some runs are spread out.

Get a tub of wet wipes. Works great when things are tight.
Your dispatcher is probably playing by the company rules, while the other who does his drivers favors isn't. Get over it. Get a scanner. And BTW, never admit to "not doing the required vehicle checks." If someone gets PO'd at you, you just gave them a reason to fire you. You didn't send this in a QualComm message did you?
Better stay with Roehl for awhile - you'll get a reputation as a job hopper, especially if things don't go well with Sysco for some reason. -
Take care of yourself. I keep a case of baby wipes to keep up I between showers, but after 40 hours for me it's shower time!
Lastly, it is your responsibility to get the bills in. Our billing dept allows us to scan and email as a last resort. If we send it in formatted incorrectly we don't get in credited for that payroll. By allowing yourself more time between loads you'll get them scanned daily.
Wish you luck 3000 miles a week is good. These last few weeks have been busy. 3000 a week most likely won't be consistent.Bosephus Thanks this.
