I've said this before, over blowing it or discounting it as nothing, are both bad to do. Is the media hyping it because of ratings, sure. Is it smart to try and mitigate it now, rather than having to shut things down like China/Italy....etc. Sure as heck. Remember something, people are gonna be stupid and hoard TP and other goods, because well they're dumb donkeys. Or other word for donkeys.
But it is also smart to be prepared and to protect your at risk loved ones. Such as myself with my fiance who's health issues puts her at risk of death if she gets it. Am I panicking and living in a bubble to protect her? No. But am I being extra careful, avoiding touching things or myself after touching other objects and before I've had the chance to wash my hands or use hand sanitizer. Am I washing my hands more often? Am I usi my back to go into most public restrooms, and a paper towel to open the door on the way out. Am I Foot flushing the throne if it is not automatic. Yes to all of the above. Some of that I do anyways, but I am doing just a bit more to be careful. For her safety. But the idiots clearing the shelves of hand sanatizer, TP, bleach, disinfectant wipes need to be quarantined for their own safety from me if I see them. lol

I call mine Harry. I keep Harry clean.
Your post if awesome and a lot of people need to think about it though. I never touch anything at a truck stop bathroom or rest area if I can avoid it at all. That's why I hate the 'paperless' way a lot of em are going.
You can still go in a stall and grab some TP to touch handles with at least.......or well you could a week ago.
kemosabi49 and HoneyBadger67 Thank this. -
Yeah that's the main reason that I stocked up on wipes and Lysol wipes too.
You never know when the truckstops will run out of tp and sanitizer and you need a wipe everytime you fuel unless you don't mind catching every random truckstop fungus.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
I'll be heading out for my usual turnaround later this week.
I generally hate people anyway, so "social distancing" means nothing to me. I have the resources to sit out for a month or two, but lack the desire.
Besides, this is just a drill. The first wave of Spanish Flu was minor. Common cold like symptoms for most of the population on average.
The Second wave is what started killing people like flies.homeskillet, D.Tibbitt and TokyoJoe Thank this. -
Keep working but doing so with caution. I don't want to be part of the reason this continues to spread and get worse. That being said, load values are going up right now because of the true need for certain goods and supplies. If you can be out on the road right now, the money is great

This definitely shows my political ties, but more importantly it shows where I stand morally. There’s literally 10’s of thousands of children aborted every year and alot of folks turn a blind eye, to “the shed of innocent blood”. This new flu virus, which probably isn’t any more deadly than the previous strains(still not to be taken lightly), garners embarrassing attention compared to the what alot are knowingly doing and still cast their vote towards those who embrace such acts. I’ll continue to work, if I get the virus, I will fight it. If I die from it, then I will have died knowing I have already accepted Christ.

For those of y’all that have seen Lonesome Dub, this is the kind of eulogy they can give me.

While I'm far from religious, I share your sentiments in the first part of your statement.homeskillet, D.Tibbitt and Tug Toy Thank this.
